Mr. Wilton gave us a presentation of his job, work and his life story. Observation Form: Wilton

My group and the other groups when to the workshop to take a tour. We explored the machines and the things the machine do/jobs.

I pretty much did nothing. Mr. Neato helped the groups that were advanced/already help yesterday/already made their website. LOL

We started to make our spagethii bridge and we talked alot and had fun.

I made my website. It is pretty boring right now but Mr. Neato taught us some tricks and told us that soon with experience we will be good at coding.

We worked on our spagethii wensday challenge bridge. We still have to finish it but I think our brigdge is the best for tit is the most lightest and I think the most strongest compare to the other groups. Not to brag. LOL The veterians also talked about the last invention challenge. They also showed their sketch-up, video, them running their invention at JPL, and even run the run in class.

We started working on our sketch-up and we just updated our website.

So today, we put our coding on "air" so we can code and home or any where in the world with wifi. Also the people who were at wilton yesterday learned how to use sketch-up.

We worked on our spagethii bridge. This time it was a bit more interesting for our group did our bridge in the workshop.

We had a sub, Mr. Black and we just worked on our website and tried to go on air. Some of the groups went with Mr. Miller to the workshop.

We listened to the veterians about jpl and then we just watched mythbusters abnd filled out our observation sheet. Observation Form: Mythbusters #1

We went to the workshop (only the cool people went) and we just cut aluminum and just talked.

I went to the workshop and cut metal and then just worked on our website and our spagethii bridge.

We did our wensday challenge of making a house of cards as tall as we can. We got second place, but because our bridge had the closest estimate we also technically also won the wensday challenge. Wensday Challenge: House of Cards

We heard the presentation for the jpl challenge. Then we filled out our observation form.

We again worked on sketch-up and in sketch-up drew a jenga block.

Today was a special day. It was my BIRTHDAY today. We just worked on our websites as usual and just did our thing. I also got a kit-kat bar cause it was my birthday and it was soooooooo good.

We are assigned a challenge for our quater grade. The challenge is to make an arch bridge with the same material and shape/size.

For today we just worked on our project and Valimore went with Mr. Miller and Miles ditched the group cause he was "sick" even though he wan't really sick.

For today we just worked on our project. Also tody was a very bad day for me. My group ditched, making me do all the work.

We did our quater grade final and I . I also cried cause the boys/team members were saying that it is my fault eventhough I did all the work and and bought the foam and cut the foam and the list goes on. I don't know how they have the guts to say that they did some work eventhough they didn't to anything.

We had a grade check for our first quater grade as well as our arch bridge challenge. I won, I got a 4.4 score. I reflected that we could/ my group could of had get each others phone number and help each one out instead of making me do all the work.

I did a sketch up of a pencil and we had to find the dimensions. However when I tried to find the diemesions on the internent everything was blocked. Werid huh?

We need a wensday challenge about cats and dogs. Our challenge was to create a machine that will scan the animal's paw to recognize the animal.

I went with Mr. Miller in the workshop and we were making the 1 for the invention challenge. I found out that I am really good at drilling cause all the boys couldn't drill except for me. How funny right.

Mr. Wilton came to robotics today so the people working on the invention challenge had to do a presentation of their design and how they are going to do it. Connor and Mr. Miller migt have/had a bad relationship cause thary both fight each other. Well, the conclusion of their design was a pitching machine that they will build and design for a jelly ball.

We were assigned to catch up on our website. So for the whole period we just worked on our website so that we can catch up in the website requirements that Dr. Neato has said.

We were on sketch-up and we had to make a lego. I am pretty proud of my work.

Today was wensday which is wensday challenge day. However, I got to hang out in the workshop and cut wood. I felt special. Mr. Miller picked me out of all the people that he can choose so I was really happy.

Because I was with Mr. Miller in the workshop yesterday. I was in charged of aranging and giving away the lego blocks. Funny thing was, all the 5th period design included red lego blocks or had to much of one block. I also took all the pictures for the team members.

Mr. Wilton came today so the invention challenge team members did a presentation about their machine. They actually renewed a machine from 2006 so they can use the pitching style machine.

We found out that the Tristan group won the cat and dog machine challenge. Also, Dr. Neato checked our website and calculated our grade. Will, Gerg, Devon, and Mathew were awarded for the best websites and they got candies or soda. After our quick talk we just worked on our websites and updated it. Miles is trying to be cool and try to steal my work again. Thanks Miles!!! So now I have to tell Dr. Neato about it and see how or what should I do. Just saying I didn't do this wensday challenge because I had to go in the workshop with Mr. Wilton.

Also, for the lego I couldn't do it because I helped Mr. Miller yesterday so I couldn't do the wensdat challenge but here is a link Wensday Challenge Form: Lego (link) So we just gave and organized the lego blocks to give out to the people who were in the wensday challenge.

Today was a wensday challenge day. We had to estimate how many candycorns can fit in a regular, printer paper. My group thinks to hard so I just did the math by myself and they just realized how simple it was to estimate. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Well we lost but it's okay.

So the invention challenge people tested their machine again. I also helped to carry the 18 to the room so thet can do their tests. After the teat which they only got a 20 point score, Dr. Neato told us to catch up on our websites and to write our wensday challenge form for yesterday but I finish it so yeah.

Today, Dr. Neato showed us the presentation for our bridge project that we are going to do in a week span. The doing of the presentation seemed easy so I'm very glad. Dr. Neato also showed his picture of the olded days when he was in Washington and it was pretty cool.

We did our wensday challenge like we usually do on wensdays. Our problem statement was to tell our class how to weigh using the wieghing machine we have.

Like always, the invention challenge people showed their progress of their invention. I'm very proud that they made a new machine instead of using the 2006 invention challenge machine for this year. After the presentaion we were assigned to work on our website for Dr. Neato is going to check it this week. Also, Mr. Wilton came today like always to help the invention boys to improve and do better in their competiton which I think is next month. (I think. Don't take my word for it.)

We did our sketch-ups today like we do on every Mondays. First we used the follow me tool to write our name then we started to make our doors. All the people couldn't make a curve of the medal handle so Cole taught us. So finally, I know how to make a curve handle! It seemed easy at first but it is harder then it looks. Cole makes it seem it so easy. (But it is not. It's hard.)So here is the picture of the sketch-up:

Dr. Neato told us how to update our website faster by using a technique which is to hard to write but it is pretty cool. However, one thing made my day. Dr. Neato was suprised at us (yatra and me) that we already finished our project before hand so he told us to present our presentation on Thursday for we don't have school on Wensday.

We got our grades for our semster and we just talked about the class grades in general. Then we just eorked on our websites.

Like I said, there was no school yesterday. We were suppose to present today put Yatra backed out so Justin and his partner presented today. It's okay, I forgive her cause she gave me a part of her twix bar so I'm very happy. If you're wondering why she got a twix bar; it is because she was a contender for the best website so she got a twix bar to reward her. So good job Yatra and congradulation!

Like always the invention challenge people do there testing so Mr. Wilton is here. Also, Dr. Neato was not here today so there was a subsitute teacher. The subsitute teacher kept saying my name as if Alisha instead of Alyssa so that was annoyin and I kept saying the right way to say the name but he couldn't hear me so he might have some ear problems. They again got 20 points again (3 weeeks in a row).

So we did our monday sketch-up of a door. Last week we practiced on the door but didn't care about the dimensions so for this week we worked on the dimensions of the door. SO here is the picture of the door:

We also did a warm-up with the follow-me tool by drawing a turkey because Dr. Neato said,"It's close to thanksgiving so today for the warm-up you use the follow-me tool to draw a turkey."

I also thought if we can do a thanskgiving pot-luck. We have a microwave and people so we can probabaly do a great pot-luck if Dr. Neato says okay.

So, good news, we presented. Finally!!!!!!!!! Yatra sid that there were two rivers when there was really just one. It was quite funny. Dr. Neato said that our presentation was good but the people who were listening kept talking. Yatra also asked the invention challenge people to give her the sketch-up drawing of th invention but they either didn't do the sketch-up or they forgot it(which Jacob did). SO the plan with me and Yatra is that we are going to first decorate the invention on sketch-up then I will and Yatra will decorate the invention. Not to brag but, I'm Pretty good at painting so I'm exicted to decorate the machine.

So today was wensday challenge day. Our wensday challenge was to make a product or a tool to to get ebola golf balls out of a paper bag. We failed.

So three groups presented their bridge presentation and they were great. Then after the presentation, Dr. Neato reminded about the ebola wensday challenge. Then after we just worked on our website and wrote the wensday challenge if one didn't finsh.

Tomorrow is the invention challenge day do we went to the workshop to see their product. They did bad(got 40 points when they need at least 60 or was it 90) but they said that they are going to keep practicing cause practice makes perfect. After that, Nathan did his presentation about his bridge and is was gerat. Then after tht, we just again, worked on our websites for Dr. Neato is going to check our websites over the thanksgiving break.

The invention challenge people showed us how they did their invention contest which happened last week. They got 50 points which was enought to get them in the finals. This Friday they are going to compete again and I hope that they win at least 3rd place. Dr. Neato didn't check the website during thanksgiving break because before thanksgiving break the internet didn't work making everyone not update their website. So it that thought, Dr. Neato said that he is going to check our website today so we just worked to update our website for the rest of the period. I'm also very hungry for luch while writing this.

Because, yesterday, we were catching up on our websites so today we did our sketch-up. Our challenge was to make the counter in our robotics room. It was confusing but worth it cause I learned how to do it and also learned from my mistakes.

Today, we did our Wensday Challenge. The Wednesday Challenge was to make a sketch-up of an E then you get someone's elses sketch-up and make the smae exact E from the sketch-up. Thankfully our sketch-up was correctly sketched and the measurements were right. In the outcome our E exactly matched the E on the sketch-up thanks to my awesome measuring skills and cutting skills. The score wasn't presented today so I'll have to wait till tomorrow to know who won the Wensday Challenge.

Today two groups presented their bridge presentation. Thet were amazing. Cole and Will was the first group and Cole made a sketch-up of the bridge which was pretty cool and whivh also impressed Dr. Neato. The secong group was Moses and this other kid which I forgot the name, but they did a bridge that was a shape of an DNA Helix which was pretty cool as well. In overall, we watched two presentations and just worked on our websites at the end.

Also, we . The Wensday Challenge, in overall was fun and quite intresting to see teamwork in process.

Today, Dr. Neato lost his voice so all we did was update our website which is what we usually do if we have nothing to do. I'm so scared for finals. Only 2 weeks to go until finals! Hope that the RObotics final is easy. Crossing my fingers.

So we were assigned to do the final this week. It seems quite complicated and we are doing the same thing with teamwork. Which we did with most of the Wednesday Challenge. Oh, and my partner was Yatra.

Yatra wasn't here with me today for she went to Disneyland for the band field trip. SO she told me I should finish the presentation and that she'll do the sketch-up when she comes back: which is tomorrow. Can't wait for Yatra to come back. I need her for the project alot.

Yatra came back so she had to quickly work on the sketch-up before Dr. Neato collects it. I tried to help as much as possible but I'm not as good with skecth-up compared to Yatra. I really am tired today and hungry. Finals are coming up so I'm stressed and worried about everything.

So we got the other person's sketch-up model. It looks pretty good but they didn't give us their presentation. So we just in overall, found the measurements and updated our website. Our plan was just to build tomorrow.

We gave up on our bridge. We will try to make the bridge as close as posible but we can't make a bridge that is steel and with pvc pipes. Thanks fifth period for the amazing bridge(sarcasism). Oh well, cross my fingers and hope for the best.

We just improvised and cut cardboard to get an idea for our bridge. We helped Leron's group by cutting cardboad as well.

So today we did our final challenge. We totally did everything last minute so it was pretty bad. In conclusion, or the aftermath, we made it. We made a bridge so I was pretty happy.
